For almost a century, George Gershwin’s music has topped the charts and touched our hearts like no other American composer.
It’s been said, “If artist were on our money instead of politicians, George Gershwin would be on the one-dollar bill.” Born to humble
Russian immigrants, George and his brother, Ira, built a musical empire that continues to influence the music and entertainment industry.
Their music has been recorded by more distinguished musicians than any other twentieth century composer:
Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Miles Davis and Judy Garland all made popular recordings of Gershwin tunes.

Jeff Lankov, pianist and American music specialist, created this look inside the life of George Gershwin and his music.
“After a bit of digging into Gershwin’s past, you find that his life was as theatrical and sweeping as his music,” said Lankov.
“For years, I have been perfoming Gershwin's music in solo recitals, with symphony orchestras, in theatrical productions,
as well as lecturing and writing about our greatest composer," added Lankov.   In 2005, theatre specialist Dell McLain and I
began looking at expanding my Gershwin lecture-recital into a show.   From Broadway to movies, from radio hits
to the concert hall classics, George and Ira Gershwin are, I think, responsible for the American soundtrack.”

Don’t miss the Southlake premiere of this musical hit featuring such tunes as:
I Got Rhythm, Someone To Watch Over Me, Embraceable You, s’Wonderful, Summertime,
Swanee, I’ve Got A Crush On You, and Love Is Here To Stay.
